Planned: Margate Dec 16/17 December 2006.

Hi all RVators, Louis and Dolph have “finalised” the fly-in to Margate for December.

 

The intention is to have it at Louis and Des’ private strip Delta Hawk just to the north east of Margate airfield.

 

The program is as follows:

1. Friday 15:

Those who want to fly in on the Friday afternoon are welcome to do so. Accommodation can be arranged at Hill Billions Bed and Breakfast within walking distance from the strip. They are prepared to offer accommodation at very reasonable rates to those who fly in.

 

2. Saturday 16:

Early breakfast fly-out to Port St Johns down the wild coast and land on top of the mountain at Port St Johns. From there we will be departing for a short cross country to Eva’s strip situated in the scenic area of Howick. Refreshments will be arranged at Eva’s. From here we will route down to the coast and back to Delta Golf. If we have enough attending we will have a lamb on the spit at Louis place in the evening. Alternatively it will be a braai.

 

3. Sunday 17:

Departure after breakfast with a loose formation flight down the coast and Margate airport.

 

We will arrange for the waiving of landing fees at Margate for the week-end so that those who need to refuel don’t have to pay landing fees.

 

I know that this event is close to the Christmas holidays, but it will be a good ending to the year and will also create the opportunity to share ideas and plan events for next year.

 

I believe Chalkie is considering flying the Fairchild from JayBay for the week-end. I have offered accommodation and the services of “Doctor Jameson” should he and Maureen arrive!!!!!

 

There is also a good (or is it a fair) possibility that Dave Emond may attend with his brand new RV10!
